The short answer is no, you don’t need any special equipment to practice yoga at home except for a yoga mat. A yoga mat provides grip and prevents your hands and feet from sliding as you practice different poses. For yoga practices that include the use of props such as blankets, bolsters, blocks, and/or straps, you have options: 1) Your teacher can suggest ways to modify the practice without the use of props. 2) There are many household items you can use in place of props: pillow(s) instead of a bolster; a belt or tie instead of a strap; a blanket from home; or a stack of books instead of a block. 3) Lastly, if you’d like to purchase a mat or props we got you covered! We offer standard sized high quality, durable yoga mats and FBS home yoga kits which includes one blanket, two blocks, and a strap. To place an order contact us.

Yes! We have home aerial hammock kits for purchase. Each kit includes two daisy chains, two carabiners, a Flying Buddha bag, and hammock (color options: navy, sky blue, champagne, white). The hammock fabric is 6 yards, if you have higher ceilings than a standard 8 foot ceiling please let us know we can let you know how many additional yards we recommend. You will need to find a contractor who can safely rig your hammock according to your specific needs. We are happy to share what we know about this process. Contact us for more information or to hear about payment plan options.

To give FBS it’s best chance in surviving during the coronavirus outbreak please consider the following: Keep your membership going; members have unlimited access to all of our online Zoom classes. If you’re reading this, the answer is an emphatic no! For our hammocks the suspension system was designed by a certified mechanical engineer and can support over 6,000 pounds. Our pole equipment is also certified and is designed for men and women of all ages, sizes, shapes, and levels.

For proper spacing and safety aerial classes can accommodate up to 19 students, mat classes 14 students, and pole classes 5 students. Due to COVID-19 our maximum capacity will be based on what is mandated by the county. For a guaranteed spot, please sign up ahead of time!

We offer classes to two age ranges: 6-10 years old and 11 and older. We recommend that a caregiver or parent attend the first class for kids ages 6-10 to observe their child. For kids age 11 and older, no parent or caregiver needs to be present. For kids of any age, no previous experience is necessary!

Free parking is available and abundant in front of and around the studio. We are located at: 814 West Diamond Avenue, Gaithersburg, MD 20878, Suite 100 directly next to LabCorp and located in the same building as Bold Concepts, Inc.

Flying Buddha offers classes for every level. Each description recommends an experience level (beginner/intermediate/advanced). If you’re just getting started, any of our gentle or flow classes will be a good fit for a beginner.

If you have a yoga mat, please bring it to your aerial or mat yoga class (no need for pole fitness classes). We do have a limited number of yoga mats available for rent at the studio for $3.00. There is boxed water available for purchase in the studio and a water dispenser in the studio. Otherwise please bring your own water bottle.

Whatever you feel comfortable in! For aerial classes we suggest wearing a form-fitting shirt that covers your underarms and form-fitting pants that cover your knees.

For pole classes, beginners can wear long leggings; 3/4 leggings are also nice so you have a little skin to grip. You can also feel free to wear knee socks, and/or knee pads for floorwork. You should not wear any lotion on your hands and legs. Sweating will release the lotion back to the surface and you will be sliding off the pole.

Be sure you have a safe place for your rings, bracelets, and valuables!
