Please note, we are following Montgomery County’s mask mandateWe have installed multiple UV-C lighting throughout our HVAC system last year to help purify the air and we are practicing strict cleaning and sanitation of common areas and equipment. For sanitation purposes we offer hammock rentals. Hammock kits are also available for those who want their own hammock or to practice from home. Aerial yoga/aerial arts is an invigorating outlet for curious young minds. Using an age-appropriate balance of energizing activity and calming techniques, our kids classes help students build strength, flexibility, focus, and confidence in a safe environment. We pay special attention to fun, infusing every moment with creativity and laughter. It’s the perfect environment for a young person to develop better body awareness and find support from an encouraging community.

Classes are offered for kids ages 6 to 10 and 11 and older — no previous yoga experience necessary!

You will leave feeling confident and ready for classes on our weekly schedule.

    Have you wanted to start your own aerial yoga home practice, but don’t know where to start with equipment or poses? We’d like to help you get started! With aerial yoga increasing in popularity, many students want to broaden their aerial yoga practice beyond the studio and take it home with them! In this workshop, we will break down the proper equipment, teach you how to tie 3 different aerial yoga knots (and how to pick which knot makes the most sense for you!), teach you how to care for your equipment, AND teach you a dozen poses to get your home practice started!

    Build your confidence and strength in this workshop designed specifically for bigger bodies and their unique needs. This is a safe space where you will learn to harness your natural strength and abilities, and where you will come to realize that the body you are in is one that can do amazing things – no matter the shape or size. All levels welcome, no experience required. Pants are OK, but wear shorts underneath for poses that require skin if you feel comfortable doing so.

    Float away with a unique and relaxing sound healing experience… in an aerial hammock!

    In this 90 minute workshop, you will have the freedom to float and sway to the womb-like environment of the supportive, aerial yoga hammock. You’ll learn a few restorative aerial yoga poses, so that you can explore the most relaxing shapes for you during the workshop. Poses can be grounded or flying. After taking shape with the support of the aerial hammock, you’ll enjoy deep vibrational, highly tuned sounds from perfect-pitch crystal quartz singing bowls and chimes. These powerful vibrations can balance dissonant frequencies in the body, bringing them to harmony and creating feelings of relaxation and connection. Each bowl and tone represents a different energy system or chakra, for deeply healing effects. Bring your intentions and be prepared to float away into bliss. You’ll leave feeling refreshed and relaxed in a very unique way.

    This aerial and acro (partner yoga) playtime is for toddlers (ages 2 to 5) and their parents or caregivers. Our goal is to create a special bonding experience for you and your child. Some playtime activities are designed to be shared with a parent or caregiver and others are for your child to explore his or her own body awareness and creativity.

    Space is limited to 4 pairs (child and parent or caregiver). Sign up early to reserve your spot!

  • Saturday, 2:30pm – 3:45pm

    Thai massage is all about doing something that is beneficial and healing for both the person giving and receiving in the session. It teaches us that loving kindness is making sure that we are loving and kind to ourselves first. For when our glass is full we have so much more to give!

    Grab a friend, family member, or partner for this workshop where you can safely learn how to do a few Thai massage techniques that will be healing for both the person receiving as well as the person giving each technique. You will learn about the ‘sen’ which are the energy lines that map out the body and how the energy lines guide our Thai massage movements. Also, learn about the power of intention and the importance of directing our thoughts and energy when we place our hands on another person. This intentional touch fosters deeper connection and healing and also empowers participants to learn how to use their hands as an extension of their heart.

    You will each take turns practicing the different Thai massage techniques on each other. At the conclusion of class there will be a brief discussion of each person’s experience through the workshop. Optional hemp oil tinctures will be available for purchase to compliment the workshop.

    Flying Buddha Kids Winter Retreat takes place during school break and is three days of activities that will help your kids reset and recharge, learn fun aerial skills, and connect with other kids with similar interests.

    Similar to our summer camps we will teach kids to play and move mindfully through a variety of activities: traditional yoga, aerial yoga, aerial arts (including lyra, aerial dance), juggling, breathwork/meditation, tie dying a FBS t-shirt, and sensory activities. Ages 5 – 11 and older. Camp is limited to 15 students. Our retreat daily schedule is TBD. Stay tuned for more!

    Upon registering please email us your kids shirts size by 12/13/21 so we can order the appropriate amount of t-shirts for our tie dying activity.

    In this New Year’s Day aerial flow class we want to start the year in a mindful way by moving our bodies and setting new intentions. This aerial flow class links movement with pranayama (breath) and moves at a steady pace. No inversion experience needed!

    In this series students will be taught an aerial dance routine over the course of 6 weeks, ending with a performance for family and friends on 2/15. Students can expect to learn:

    1/6, 1/13, 1/20, 1/27, 2/3, 2/10

    Did you know that you can build your own lyra routine even as a beginner? Yes, you can and it can be as simple or difficult as you’d like. It can be as short or long as you want. It can be cute, sexy, dancy, tricky, you can put any spin you want on it. Quite literally. And the main thing – you don’t have to do it alone! 

    In this 6 Week Series with Tonya you will:

    • Increase your lyra shapes vocabulary
    • Learn how to connect those shapes in longer sequences
    • Find different ways to gracefully get on and off the lyra
    • Explore what to do on the ground between the sequences
    • Learn how to work with the music 
    • and so much more!   

    At the end of the series we will hold an intimate showcase on 2/17 for the group members, their friends and family to let you shine like the true star that you are!

    Unlock your Front Splits with this unique workshop, instructed by a Russian gymnast with over 15 years of coaching experience, Tonya Wish.
    This 6-week anatomy and biomechanics based series will include injury prevention, mobility drills ,and pain-free stretching techniques for getting your splits faster and safer.

    Not only will you receive the steps and tools for the splits themselves, but will also:

    • Activate your lower core for aerial and pole tricks
    • Break through your plateau and understand what is holding YOUR Split back
    • Get visible Split results by the end of the workshop series

    In this 6 week series students will learn different choreography techniques to create their own aerial dance routine. Students can expect to learn: how to pick a song and add musicality to their moves; how to sequence aerial moves using the bucket method and will receive teacher suggestions on additional aerial moves and flare. The series will end with a performance for friends and family on 3/12 (1:30pm-3:30pm). It is recommended that students have a strong aerial flips and tricks practice or have previously taken one of our aerial dance series to attend this series.

  • Sunday, 2:30pm-3:45pm

    Ready to reset for the New Year? Have you tried meditating but just can’t seem to get into it? Let’s try Yoga Nidra! While meditation begins with concentration, Yoga Nidra begins with relaxation. Yoga Nidra (known as yogic sleep) is a meditation and conscious relaxation practice that is intended to bring the body into complete physical, mental and emotional rest. Come join us on January 9th, from 2:30-3:45pm to Float Away in the aerial hammock while being guided through a Yoga Nidra meditation; experiencing a restorative state for the mind and soul to decompress.

  • Saturday, January 22 (12pm – 8pm) & Sunday, January 23 (1pm – 7pm)

    From ground and aerial conditioning to shapes and tricks on the lyra–this training will give you the tools and understanding on how to teach lyra to total beginners through intermediate students. We will learn biomechanically correct shoulder and back position to keep you and your class safe and ready to fly. Together with Tonya Wish you will learn how to reverse-engineer your students’ most desired skills, make them easier or more complex depending on the level of each student. We will also dedicate time to practice teaching different parts of the class such as warm up, conditioning, shapes and transitions and each training participant will receive constructive feedback from Tonya to get you teach-ready.

    Tonya Wish is a movement coach, aerial performer, and former gymnast with a Masters degree in physical education.

    Flying Buddha Kids Camp will teach kids to play and move mindfully through a variety of activities: aerial yoga, aerial arts (including lyra, aerial dance), acrobatics, gymnastics, circus arts (i.e. juggling), breathwork/meditation, and time outside incorporating mindfulness with art and other activities (i.e. tie dye, chalk mandalas).

    Ages 5 – 11 and older. Camp is limited to 15 students. Sign up early to reserve your spot!

    Cost of workshop: $450 for the week (includes Flying Buddha t-shirt, healthy snacks, and a take home meditation)

    Upon registering please email us your kids shirts size by 6/1/22 so we can order the appropriate amount of t-shirts for our tie dying activity.
