Thai massage is all about doing something that is beneficial and healing for both the person giving and receiving in the session. It teaches us that loving kindness is making sure that we are loving and kind to ourselves first. For when our glass is full we have so much more to give!
Grab a friend, family member, or partner for this workshop where you can safely learn how to do a few Thai massage techniques that will be healing for both the person receiving as well as the person giving each technique. You will learn about the ‘sen’ which are the energy lines that map out the body and how the energy lines guide our Thai massage movements. Also, learn about the power of intention and the importance of directing our thoughts and energy when we place our hands on another person. This intentional touch fosters deeper connection and healing and also empowers participants to learn how to use their hands as an extension of their heart.

You will each take turns practicing the different Thai massage techniques on each other. At the conclusion of class there will be a brief discussion of each person’s experience through the workshop. Optional hemp oil tinctures will be available for purchase to compliment the workshop.

Space is limited to 6 pairs in studio.

This workshop is offered online and in-studio. Please be sure to sign up for the correct format.

  • Saturday, 1:30pm- 2:30pm

This introductory workshop will give you a taste of a new barre 4-week series we are adding to the schedule, “Movement as Medicine: Fascial Fitness and Flexibility.”

Based on new information about fascia, this workshop will give you an introduction on how to gain strength and resilience, flexibility with stability, while moving safely and gracefully; leading you through a hybrid of methods influenced by Barre, physical therapy, and Feldenkrais and Alexander techniques, somatic dance.

About your teacher: May Kesler is owner of Kesler Physical & Massage Therapy and has a 33-year history in helping people reduce pain and restore function. May has been a dancer for more than 50 years which gives her a unique perspective. “Because of all the work I do as a dancer, it gives me an intuitive sensibility of how the body works and fits together,” she explains. “I look at the body as a whole. All the parts are connected. I look at the patient’s pain or injury and I always relate to their posture, the way they move, the way they hold their head and neck, the way they hold their back, and the way they are seated. I know their issue could be related to organ problems. I conduct a full musculoskeletal evaluation of how their body works.”

“I see this as a sort of three-dimensional spider web. When one thread is pulled, it alters the whole spider web. I have to figure out where the twists in the spider web are and unwind it to help restore balance to the body.”

This workshop series offered in-studio (limit 6) and via Zoom. Please be sure to sign up for the correct format!

    Cost of workshop: $45

Everyone can do a split. Yes, everyone, regardless of your age and physical background. We all have 2 hip joints and 1 pelvis and that’s a great place to start! If there was only one secret to unlock your split, this would be it: stop treating a split as a stretch because not all the muscles in it need to be stretched, it’s actually quite opposite. Split is a skill, therefore it requires more than just flexibility, but strength, mobility and muscle coordination. Save yourself injuries, time and frustration and let’s get you strong for your splits on the ground and up in the air!
