COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Update

At this time we offer online classes and have fully opened the studio for classes and special workshops. We will continue to update our schedule as needed; adjusting our classes and workshops to best meet the needs of our movement community.

Classes and workshops are limited to groups up to 9 students for mat, aerial, and rope wall; and limited to 4 students for pole fitness. These smaller format classes allow for social distancing and provide the opportunity for our teachers to give individualized attention to students; tailoring the practice to your needs.

In-studio you can also create your own customized class. We will coordinate a time, day, participants, class type, and teacher with you (contact us to set up an appointment).

Please note that we follow the Montgomery County mandate on mask requirement; you must register online, no walk-ins please; hammock kits and rentals are available. OUR PRACTICE

Securely suspended in a hammock that lets you control how deep and far you want to go while gliding, you’ll merge asanas and breath for an experience that’s as exhilarating as it is empowering. From poses that improve alignment to supportive stretches that decompress your spine, Aerial Yoga takes a dynamic and safe approach to building strength, flexibility, balance, and stability.

Use the hammock to perform flips, tricks, and dance routines. Aerial arts is an experience that’s as exhilarating as it is empowering. If you’re a first-timer or an expert of the practice, you’ll unleash the confidence and tenacity to do things you didn’t realize were possible.

Aerial yoga/aerial arts is an invigorating outlet for curious young minds. Using an age-appropriate balance of energizing activity and calming techniques, our kids classes help students build strength, flexibility, focus, and confidence in a safe environment. We pay special attention to fun, infusing every moment with creativity and laughter. It’s the perfect environment for a young person to develop better body awareness and find support from an encouraging community.

Classes are offered for kids ages 6 to 10 and 11 and older — no previous yoga experience necessary!

The Great Yoga Wall supports your body, allowing you to experience traditional yoga poses in a whole new way. Using the yoga wall, along with its various attachments (adjustable straps, swings, and bars) offers unique support and traction in the body that you just have to experience for yourself!

  • Wednesdays, 7:30pm- 8:30pm

    This beginners workshop explores Kundalini Yoga. Kundalini yoga is the yoga of personal experience. We use breath, mudra, eye-focus, mantra, and more to release energetic blocks. Kundalini Yoga harnesses the mental, physical, and nervous energies throughout the body. As more people are searching for non-medical practices to improve their health and emotional/spiritual well-being, an awareness has begun to surface of this “life force flow” and how it moves through the body. Many of the modalities will focus on freeing the flow of energy throughout the body to unblock and allow for the body to maintain health, increase healing, and generate an overall feeling of well-being. 

    About the instructor: Pam Reidinger is a teacher and healer who has been studying Kundalini Yoga since 2013. In 2011 Pam was diagnosed with a kidney condition and found herself headed toward a kidney transplant; Kundalini Yoga was the cornerstone….Pam is now stable and no longer needs a transplant—Kundalini Yoga literally saved her life! She continues her learning about these practices and delights in sharing about the positive impact it’s had on her life. As a practitioner of Sat Nam Rasayan which means “Deep Relaxation in True Identity” Pam meets students where they are in their journey. Our mutual goal is to become our best and most authentic selves.

  • Thursday, 12pm- 1pm

    In this aerial yoga class we will focus on gratitude and mindfulness exercises. Practicing a grateful perspective is now more important than ever as we face numerous stresses due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Expressing gratitude to others and ourselves allows us to focus in the moment on what we appreciate and brings us joy, happiness, and satisfaction. These positive emotions promote a positive attitude that energizes, heals, and brings hope.
    Limited to 9 students in-studio.

  • Saturday, 12:30pm- 1:30pm

    Aerial yoga is the ideal outlet for kids and parents. Students gain strength, flexibility, and confidence while having the best time. Our classes are filled with creativity and laughter. It’s the perfect environment to find better body awareness and encouraging community to become your best self.

    For ages 6+, no previous experience is necessary!

    This class is limited to 9 students. Please sign up for class in advance to hold your spot.

  • Sundays, 3:00pm- 4:30pm

    If you are brand new to aerial arts this workshop is the start of your journey! We will introduce you to some of the basics to help you develop proper technique for safe acrobatic movements including wrist wraps, ankle wraps, inversions, and climbs – preparing you for the other aerial arts classes on the schedule.

     This is the prerequisite for Intro to Flips & Tricks, Aerial Transitions, and Aerial Tricks along with approval from the teacher. Class is limited to 9 students. Sign up early to reserve your spot!

  • Mondays, 12:00pm- 1:00pm

    This aerial and acro (partner yoga) playtime is for toddlers (ages 2 to 5) and their parents or caregivers. Our goal is to create a special bonding experience for you and your child. Some playtime activities are designed to be shared with a parent or caregiver and others are for your child to explore his or her own body awareness and creativity.

    Space is limited to 4 pairs (child and parent or caregiver). Sign up early to reserve your spot!

  • 11/30, 12/28, 1/18, 2/15 – Mondays, 7:15pm – 8:30pm

    11/22, 12/13, 12/27 –  Sundays, 3:00pm- 4:30pm

    If you are brand new to aerial yoga this workshop is the start of your journey! We will introduce you to some of the basics including terminology, learning to breathe with your yoga postures, wrist wraps, hammock placement to support good alignment, inversions, and safety practices. You will leave feeling confident and ready for classes on our weekly schedule.

  • Friday 5-9pm, Saturday 12:30pm – 8:30pm, and Sunday 9:30am – 5:30pm

    Level 2 Aerial Yoga Teacher Training takes it up a notch and contains 80 postures and transitions! The sequence of postures warms up the body to prepare for more challenging core work, building upper body strength and deepening trust in yourself and the hammock!

    Expect to:

    • To deepen your own aerial yoga practice! Learn challenging new poses, transitions, refreshing your own aerial yoga love. To learn modifications and variations that you can share with students to make this practice accessible to all.
    • Learn how to teach to mixed levels and introduce prep and peak poses.
    • To find your teaching voice; find the confidence needed to make this practice encouraging, fun, and safe.
    • To gain a deeper understanding of aerial yoga in the body as we explore anatomy, physiology, mudras, and chakras.

    Our Level 1 Flow and Fly Aerial Yoga Teacher Training is the prerequisite for this training.

    This is an in-studio workshop. Space is limited to 9 people, please sign up in advance to save your space.

  • Saturday, 1:00pm- 2:30pm

    Let’s bring more variety to your Lyra vocabulary! If you are struggling to put your tricks into combos and combos into a well-balanced routine or you feel like all your transitions look alike; if you don’t know how to add more dynamic movements without exhausting your grip and add something more that just shapes and poses – let’s spice things up!

    Tonya will teach you:

    • Exciting entrances and exits to and off the Lyra
    • Rolls, that don’t require shoulder flexibility
    • Tricks under, inside and on the top of the Lyra

    Tonya Letunovskaya is a movement coach, aerial performer, and former gymnast with a Masters degree in physical education.

  • Saturday, 12:30pm- 1:45pm

    We will use the yoga wall to explore alignment and to stretch various muscle groups that tend to play a role in lower back pain (hamstrings, psoas, hips, glutes, etc) as well as learn proper engagement so that you are moving your body in a safer, less vulnerable way.

    All levels welcome.

  • Sunday, 10:30am- 12:15pm

    Join Sarah Caffey, a physical therapist and yoga teacher as she teams up with Flying Buddha to bring you, “Exploring Yoga Cues and the Anatomy Behind Them.” In this workshop Sarah focuses on the cue “tuck your tailbone.” Many times cues are taught within a class without much explanation of why we are engaging or moving that way within a pose. This online workshop will delve into the anatomy behind these go-to cues, what they actually mean, what compensations they are trying to prevent, and finish up with a movement flow integrating these new innerstandings. You can expect to learn about your body in new ways and how to apply this information to your yoga practice and daily life.

    Sarah is a practicing Physical Therapist at Acro PT, a clinic that specializes in treating patients of aerial arts, as well as, a Co-Owner of Back In Action, Ergonomics and Wellness offering online desk set-up assessments to clients. Sarah graduated from the University of Maryland, School of Medicine with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2014. Sarah is a native to Maryland and grew up playing lots of sports including soccer, lacrosse, basketball, and rugby.

    When Sarah began her career as a Physical Therapist, her time with playing sports shifted more towards a practice in yoga for her own self-care. It quickly became clear to Sarah the connections between the postural tips of neutral spine she was teaching her patients and the alignment cues in yoga. Sarah is excited to share her unique insight within her workshops, empowering those around her with the knowledge to heal themselves.

    This is an online workshop via Zoom. If you are unable to attend the day of we will offer this class as a recording available for 3 months to view at your leisure.

  • Saturday, 12:30pm- 2:00pm

    Float away with a unique and relaxing sound healing experience… in an aerial hammock!

    In this 90 minute workshop, you will have the freedom to float and sway to the womb-like environment of the supportive, aerial yoga hammock. You’ll learn a few restorative aerial yoga poses, so that you can explore the most relaxing shapes for you during the workshop. Poses can be grounded or flying. After taking shape with the support of the aerial hammock, you’ll enjoy deep vibrational, highly tuned sounds from perfect-pitch crystal quartz singing bowls and chimes. These powerful vibrations can balance dissonant frequencies in the body, bringing them to harmony and creating feelings of relaxation and connection. Each bowl and tone represents a different energy system or chakra, for deeply healing effects. Bring your intentions and be prepared to float away into bliss. You’ll leave feeling refreshed and relaxed in a very unique way.
