OUR PRACTICE

Securely suspended in a hammock that lets you control how deep and far you want to go while gliding, you’ll merge asanas and aerial arts for an experience that’s as exhilarating as it is empowering. From poses that improve alignment to supportive stretches that decompress your spine, Aerial Yoga takes a dynamic and safe approach to building strength, flexibility, balance, and stability.

If you’re a first-timer or an expert of the practice, you’ll unleash the confidence and tenacity to do things you didn’t realize were possible.

Grounded Aerial – Earth

Beginner
Stretch therapy. This class is a fusion of mat and aerial yoga. See how the aerial hammock can be the ultimate prop in your yoga practice. One foot will remain on the ground at all times. There will be no inversions in this class. This class is at a slower pace which allows you to focus on alignment and breath. Leave feeling balanced and strong.

Aerial Restorative – Ether

Advanced, Beginner, Intermediate
Stretch and Reset. Take a pause from your busy life and enjoy stillness. This class takes meditation along with passive restorative poses and merges them in aerial stillness. You will leave feeling balanced, centered, and refreshed.

Aerial Gentle – Earth

Advanced, Beginner, Intermediate
Stretch Therapy. This class can be enjoyed by both the leisurely yogi and the super athlete. Our most gentle format incorporates longer, slow stretching, pranayama (breathing techniques), and self-massage with hammocks, blocks and balls. Unwind, unravel and empower the body gently.

Aerial Flow – Water

Beginner, Intermediate
A flow class, this class links movement with pranayama (breath), and moves as a steady pace. Be prepared to learn yoga poses incorporating the hammocks and transitions connecting one pose to the next. No inversion experience needed!

Aerial Flips and Tricks – Air

Advanced, Intermediate
Learn the finer details of aerial technique. Get ready to go on an adventure with flips, tricks, drops, and transitions all as you build your strength, stability, flexibility, and balance.

Aerial Core – Fire

Advanced, Beginner, Intermediate
Strength and Conditioning. Build your core strength, increase your stability and balance, along with flexibility. This aerial strength and conditioning class, includes repetitions, athletic sequencing, transitions, and tricks. OK if you are active and comfortable with planks.

Aerial Core – Fire/Water

Advanced, Beginner
Build heat and strength through repetition of flow sequences. This class will warm you up then cool you down at the end. You will feel a lot was accomplished in a short amount of time, and you are ready to move on with your day.

Aerial Yoga is an invigorating outlet for curious young minds. Using an age-appropriate balance of energizing activity and calming techniques, our kids classes help students build strength, flexibility, focus, and confidence in a safe environment. We pay special attention to fun, infusing every moment with creativity and laughter. It’s the perfect environment for a young person to develop better body awareness and find support from an encouraging community.

Classes are offered for kids ages 6 to 10 and 11 and older no previous yoga experience necessary!

Aerial Kids Flips and Tricks (ages 11+) – Air

Slow Flow Spanish – Earth/Water

Beginner, Intermediate
Spanish spoken class. Flexibility, Balance, and Strength. This Hatha flow class links movement with pranayama (breath) and moves at a slower pace. The poses range from gentle to challenging; each pose is done with a stable, grounded energy with a focus on safe alignment. Repetition of movement helps the student become more in tune with the internal rhythms of their body.

Slow Flow – Earth/Water

Beginner, Intermediate
Flexibility, Balance, and Strength. This Hatha flow class links movement with pranayama (breath) and moves at a slower pace. The poses range from gentle to challenging; each pose is done with a stable, grounded energy with a focus on safe alignment. Repetition of movement helps the student become more in tune with the internal rhythms of their body.

Hatha – Earth

Beginner, Intermediate
This Hatha class helps to bring balance and relaxation to the whole body through slow stretching, pranayama (breathing techniques), and alignment. We take the body through a full-range of motion. You can expect an emphasis on simplicity, ease of movement, and repetition to promote alignment, balance, strength, and flexibility. Steady the body to steady the mind.

Gentle Yoga – Earth

Beginner
Stretch Therapy. This class is a self-care class, it can be enjoyed by both the leisurely yogi and the super athlete. Our most gentle format incorporates long, slow stretching, pranayama (breathing techniques), and self-massage with blocks and balls. Unwind and unravel the body gently.

Flying Meditation – Earth/Ether

Advanced, Beginner, Intermediate
Stretch therapy and reset. This unique class combines both mat yoga and hammocks of aerial yoga to prepare yourself for the week ahead. Start with 40 minutes of gentle mat yoga to open up the body then transitioning to the hammock (1 foot off the ground) for a 20 minute savasana/meditation to rest and reset the body.

Flow Beginner – Earth

Beginner
Flexibility, Balance, and Strength. This energetic class lays the foundation for the Vinyasa  format that links movement with pranayama (breath), and flows at a steady pace. Be prepared to learn a sequence of yoga poses that change from one pose to the next as if a dance.

Flow and Yin – Earth/Water

Beginner, Intermediate
Flexibility, Balance, and Strength/Stretch Therapy. The first portion of your class combines breath and movement to prepare the body for a passive Yin style ending to your class that holds poses for several minutes at a time.

Flexibility, Balance, and Strength. This energetic class is taught in a Vinyasa format that links movement with pranayama (breath), and flows at a steady pace. Be prepared to learn a sequence of yoga poses that change from one pose to the next as if a dance.

Core Flow – Fire/Water

Advanced, Intermediate
Strength, Balance, and Flexibility. A Vinyasa class with transitions, pauses, and holds to build strength and endurance in your body and mind. Be prepared to feel the burn!

Chair Yoga – Earth

Advanced, Beginner, Intermediate
Flexibility, Balance, and Strength. Restore your body without straining joints and muscles. This class uses chairs and props to accommodate all levels of mobility. You can be standing or seated. Each yoga pose incorporates pranayama (breath) helping to reduce the effects of aging.  Short meditations are included to help improve concentration and sharpen memory.

Pole Fitness – Fire/Water

Beginner
Strength and Flexibility. Learn basic spins, combo spins, dance moves, and tricks with focus on perfecting your skills and technique.  You will learn how to concentrate on engaging specific muscles in your upper body and core, all while finding your inner confidence. Tricks and transitions will be incorporated into each class, so you can add extra flare to your spins.

    Level 2 Aerial Yoga Teacher Training takes it up a notch and contains 80 postures and transitions! The sequence of postures warms up the body to prepare for more challenging core work, building upper body strength and deepening trust in yourself and the hammock! 

    Expect to:
    • To deepen your own aerial yoga practice! Learn challenging new poses, transitions, refreshing your own aerial yoga love.

    • To learn modifications and variations that you can share with students to make this practice accessible to all.

    • Learn how to teach to mixed levels and introduce prep and peak poses.

    • To find your teaching voice; find the confidence needed to make this practice encouraging, fun, and safe.

    • To gain a deeper understanding of aerial yoga in the body as we explore anatomy, physiology, mudras, and chakras. 

    Our Level 1 Flow and Fly Aerial Yoga Teacher Training is the prerequisite for this training.

  • Restorative Aerial Yoga focuses the mind inward as it floats the body through a series of gentle poses. Unlike a regular aerial class that places the hammock about hip height, Restorative Aerial places the hammock less than 10 inches off the ground. Each pose will be held for a few minutes to deeply open the entire spine, hips and connective tissues of the body. No flipping involved! 

    This training will provide a framework for sharing this practice with others. In this course, you will become a certified aerial yoga teacher and learn how to safely share this yoga practice with others of all levels. You can expect:

    • To improve your own aerial yoga practice! Learn how to use the hammock as a prop to support the body in yin and restorative postures.

    • To learn modifications and variations that you can share with students to make this practice accessible to all

    • To explore the range of this practice! From more intense yin postures to restorative, relaxing decompression of the body

    • To find your teaching voice: find the confidence needed to make this practice encouraging, fun and safe

    • To have access to Jessie Hill and the rest of the Flow & Fly network to support you in your teaching journey

    • To be inspired and create some magic!

    The Flow & Fly Teaching Manual is a full-color resource that you will be able to use long after the training is over. The Flow & Fly Teaching Manual is only available to students enrolled in the teacher training. 

    This course is open to all levels of aerial students! No prior experience needed.

We recommend you reserve a hammock online to guarantee your spot. Choose a class here . You’ll be directed to our scheduling system, where you can reserve your class. If you don’t already have an account, you’ll be prompted to create one.
If you’re reading this, the answer is an emphatic yes! Our suspension system was designed by a certified mechanical engineer and can support over 6,000 pounds.
Each class can accommodate 20 hammocks for proper spacing and safety. For a guaranteed spot, please sign up ahead of time!
We offer classes to two age ranges: 6-10 years old and 11 and older. We recommend that a caregiver or parent attend the first class for kids ages 6-10 to observe their child. For kids age 11 and older, no parent or caregiver needs to be present. For kids of any age, no previous experience is necessary!
Free parking is available and abundant in front of and around the studio. We are located at

Flying Buddha offers classes for every level. Each description recommends an experience level. If you’re just getting started, any of our gentle or aerial flow classes will be a good fit for a beginner.

If you have a yoga mat, please bring it. We do have a limited number of extra yoga mats available for rent at the studio. There is water is available for purchase in the studio and a water fountain in the building. Otherwise please bring your own water bottle.

If possible, wear a form-fitting shirt that covers your underarms and form-fitting pants that cover your knees. Make sure you have a safe place for your rings, bracelets, and valuables!
