OUR PRACTICE

Aerial Yoga has you securely suspended in a hammock that lets you control how deep and far you want to go while gliding, you’ll merge asanas and breath for an experience that’s as exhilarating as it is empowering. From poses that improve alignment to supportive stretches that decompress your spine, Aerial Yoga takes a dynamic and safe approach to building strength, flexibility, balance, and stability.

The bungee apparatus is a new type of aerial fitness. This method is a high intensity, low impact workout on your joints that is a ton of fun! This apparatus requires a pack of bungee cords and a harness worn around the hips and waist to support a person while they move their body into various shapes and practice creative movements from leaping, bouncing, to lunges, push-ups, squats, handstands, jumps, etc. This cardiovascular workout will build coordination, strength, endurance and while toning your body!

Aerial Yoga Prerequisite


Beginner Only
If you are brand new to aerial yoga this workshop is the start of your journey! We will introduce you to using the aerial hammock as a yoga prop. Students will learn the basics of aerial yoga; including terminology, wrist wraps, hammock placement, inversions, and safety practices. We will also help you understand the difference between the various aerial yoga class offerings. Leaving you feeling confident and ready for classes on our weekly schedule. Aerial Core


Beginner, Intermediate & Advanced
Strength and Conditioning. Build your core strength, increase your stability and balance, along with flexibility. This aerial strength and conditioning class, includes repetitions, athletic sequencing, transitions, and tricks. OK if you are active and comfortable with planks. Prerequisite: Aerial Yoga Prerequisite workshop.

Aerial Core/Flow


Beginner, Intermediate & Advanced
Build heat and strength through repetition of flow sequences. This class will warm you up then cool you down at the end. You will feel a lot was accomplished in a short amount of time, and you are ready to move on with your day. Prerequisite: Aerial Yoga Prerequisite workshop.

Aerial Gentle


Beginner, Intermediate & Advanced
Stretch Therapy. This class can be enjoyed by both the leisurely yogi and the super athlete. Our most gentle format incorporates longer, slow stretching, pranayama (breathing techniques), and self-massage with hammocks, blocks and balls. Unwind, unravel and empower the body gently. There is no prerequisite for this class but we do strongly suggest you take an Aerial Yoga Prerequisite workshop if this is your first time doing aerial.

Aerial Strength & Tone


Beginner, Intermediate & Advanced
Build your core strength, improve your posture, increase your stability and balance, along with flexibility. Aerial Strength and Tone uses the hammock at a low setting to create isometric movements and engage differently than you do in a Core class.  Please note that light weights and resistance bands may be used. This class is perfect for anyone who doesn’t like to invert and is welcome to all levels of experience! There is no prerequisite for this class but we do strongly suggest you take an Aerial Yoga Prerequisite workshop if this is your first time doing aerial.

Aerial Yoga Community Karma Class


Beginner, Intermediate & Advanced
Support our aerial yoga level 1 trainees on their teaching journey! These classes will be taught by one of our trainees with the assistance of a FBS teacher. This helps give the trainees real world experience and feedback to improve along the way. Prerequisite: Aerial Yoga Prerequisite workshop.

Use the hammock to perform flips, tricks, and dance routines.  Aerial arts is an experience that’s as exhilarating as it is empowering. If you’re a first-timer or an expert of the practice, you’ll unleash the confidence and tenacity to do things you didn’t realize were possible.

Aerial Arts (Hammock) Prerequisites


Beginner Only
For new students who are just starting their Aerial Arts journey this series is for you! Students will learn the beginning foundations of Aerial Arts (Hang 101, Climb & Press 102, Wraps 103 and Flips 104) over the course of 4 weeks. You will leave this series feeling confident and have a solid foundation to attend our weekly Aerial Arts classes (i.e. Aerial Skills, Flips and Tricks). Sign up via the schedule to attend.

Prerequisites: These Aerial Arts Prerequisite Classes are meant to be taken in order (e.g. 101, 102, 103, 104) to build on what was learned in the previous class. You must complete 101 before moving to 102 and so on.

Lyra Fundamentals


Beginner, Intermediate & Advanced
You’ve seen beautiful performances and cool tricks on the Lyra, but you don’t even know yet how to get yourself up there? You think you are not strong enough, your hands get tired way before the class ends and have no idea where to even start? Start here with Lyra Fundamentals. You will learn easy and graceful ways to get onto the Lyra, beginner-friendly poses, transitions and shapes, low flow on the bottom of the Lyra, and aerial-specific safety and conditioning techniques and drills.

Aerial Dance


Beginner, Intermediate & Advanced
Meet your new dance partner…the aerial hammock! Learn aerial moves and tricks, how they link together to create a dance routine, and how to add musicality and performance elements to the routine. Our Aerial Dance classes are offered as a six week workshop series that end with a performance for family and friends on the seventh week. Please ask your instructor which level of Aerial Dance is right for you (Beginner, Mixed Level, Advanced). Intermediate & Advanced
A combination of Vinyasa Flow and Flips & Tricks, this challenging yet fluid class features creative sequencing, flowing transitions, flips and inversions. Prerequisite: Aerial Fundamentals.

You’ll learn intermediate flips, tricks, drops, and transitions all as you build your confidence, strength, flexibility, and balance.

Advanced Only
Learn to use the aerial silk to create beautiful shapes and clean inversions from yoga and circus inspired poses to choreographed sequencing. Each class starts with a warmup emphasizing strength, flexibility, stability & alignment and will continue by tying flips, drops, and elements of choreography with the hammock together. Appropriate for students looking to increase strength, endurance, and performance presence. Prerequisite: This class is for the seasoned aerial artist. You must attend Aerial Arts Prerequisites workshops and an Aerial Skills class, as well as be approved by the teacher before attending.

Aerial yoga/aerial arts is an invigorating outlet for curious young minds. Using an age-appropriate balance of energizing activity and calming techniques, our kids classes help students build strength, flexibility, focus, and confidence in a safe environment. We pay special attention to fun, infusing every moment with creativity and laughter. It’s the perfect environment for a young person to develop better body awareness and find support from an encouraging community.

Classes are offered for kids ages 6 to 10 and 11 and older no previous yoga experience necessary!

Aerial Kids (ages 11+)

Aerial Kids Workshops, Retreats, Camps (Ages 6-11+)


Beginner, Intermediate & Advanced
Aerial is the ideal outlet for kids. Students gain strength, flexibility, and confidence while having the best time. Our workshops are filled with creativity and laughter. It’s the perfect environment to find better body awareness and an encouraging community to become your best self. Ages 5 – 11 and older. All levels welcome!

Flying Buddha Kids Camp and Retreats will teach kids to play and move mindfully through a variety of activities: aerial yoga, aerial arts (including lyra, aerial dance), acrobatics, gymnastics, circus arts (i.e. juggling), breathwork/meditation, and time outside incorporating mindfulness with art and other activities (i.e. tie dye, chalk mandalas).  Ages 5 – 11 and older.

Learn to move with flow and ease! Our barre and specialty dance movement classes will tone, sculpt, and lengthen your muscles by using different techniques specific to barre and other dance modalities. These classes offer styles appropriate for beginner through advanced students.

Buddha Barre Ballet


Beginner, Intermediate & Advanced
This class will tone, sculpt and lengthen your muscles by using different technique specific to ballet. The flexibility training, strength and core work, and use of the barre are all taught with a strong foundation in Ballet basics and methodology. Open to all levels!

Strengthen your body, turn up the heat aerobically, and build your confidence with this total body workout! 

Pole Foundations


Beginner Only
For new students who have never taken pole and students just beginning their pole journey. This class is for you! Students will learn the basics of pole, proper technique and queuing, and safety practices for spins and transitions on the pole. You will leave this class confident and a solid foundation built for success.

Note: This workshop is a prerequisite to all pole fitness classes. Please reach out to us if you have any questions.

Pole Spins & Transitions


Beginner & Intermediate
Strength and Flexibility. Learn basic spins, combo spins, dance moves, and tricks with focus on perfecting your skills and technique. You will learn how to concentrate on engaging specific muscles in your upper body and core, all while finding your inner confidence. Tricks and transitions will be incorporated into each class, so you can add extra flare to your spins. Prerequisite: You must attend one of our Pole Foundations workshops. Pole Strength & Tone


Beginner, Intermediate & Advanced
Build up your strength and learn proper pole specific muscle engagement in this All Level conditioning class. Attire: Shorts and tank top.

Pole Play/Practice


Beginner, Intermediate & Advanced
The pole room will be open to students to practice spins and inversions freely. An instructor will be present for spotting and use of equipment.

Pole-o-graphy


Beginner, Intermediate & Advanced
Pole-o-graphy is choreography for pole! This intermediate level class will get your body moving with longer dance sequences that incorporate the floor and pole. Pole-o-graphy focuses less on individual moves/tricks, and more on being able to perform the movements together. It is recommended that students feel comfortable moving around the pole, and have had an introduction to basic inverts.

Pole Skills


Intermediate & Advanced
This class is for students who have taken Pole Spins & Transitions and a Klimbing with Kat workshop and are ready to move on to the next level. Instructor approval is required.

Sexy Low Flow


Intermediate & Advanced
In this class students will explore dance around the pole and on the floor. Each week we will learn a short,  intermediate level routine that celebrates sensual movement with heel clacks, floor work, and the occasional trick! Get ready to embrace your inner sexy! Heels are welcomed – but optional! Shorts recommended – knee pads or leggings may be needed for floor work. This is an intermediate/advanced class. Beginners are welcome but prior dance experience is recommended.

Klimbing with Kat


Intermediate & Advanced
Let’s learn to Klimb with Kat! In this workshop we will go over how to safely climb up and down the pole using proper technique and form. You will gain the confidence and proper foundation to move up to the next level. Climbing is a full body workout and is an essential skill to be successful moving forward in your pole journey.

Prerequisite: This workshop is for students who have already taken our Pole Spins & Transitions class and are ready to move on to the next level. Please visit the Events tab for Klimbing with Kat workshop dates/times and to sign up.

Pole Tricks and Transitions


Intermediate & Advanced
In this class you will work on inversions, climbing, as well as different poses including aerial poses on the pole. The focus will be on strength training and practicing proper safe technique for these intermediate moves.

Shorts are required. For intermediate students.

Prerequisite: Inversions and climbing (aka Klimbing with Kat) workshop and teacher’s approval. Please visit the Events tab for workshop dates/times and to sign up.

Although we love our apparatuses and props we also offer yoga classes on the mat. Be prepared to learn to breathe while you move through a variety of different yoga postures. Our teachers utilize the different branches of Yoga to bring mind, body, and spirit together.

You’ll build strength, create length and space in your body, while gaining awareness in each pose. Using the yoga wall, along with its various attachments (adjustable straps, swings, and bars) offers unique support and traction in the body that you just have to experience for yourself!

Feel Good Yoga Wall


Beginner, Intermediate & Advanced
The Great Yoga Wall supports your body, allowing you to experience traditional yoga poses in a whole new way. You’ll build strength, create length and space in your body, while gaining awareness in each pose. Using the yoga wall, along with its various attachments (adjustable straps, swings, and bars) offers unique support and traction in the body that you just have to experience for yourself. You’ll leave feeling better than when you walked in the door!
