Aerial yoga uses a hammock or sling as a prop. This extra support allows us to bring more awareness to our breath and our movements. Aerial yoga allows for certain yoga postures to be accessible that may not be possible with just a yoga mat (e.g. inversions, learning to pull yourself up). Aerial yoga is a combination of traditional yoga, pilates, and an adaptation of TRX.

Aerial arts are the practice of performing acrobatics using the hammock, sling, or lyra as an apparatus to perform tricks or dance routines. Aerial arts practices are inspired by dance, gymnastics, acrobatics, and the circus arts.
